Strain induced crystallization in vulcanized natural rubber containing ground tire rubber particles with reinforcement and nucleation abilities

نویسندگان

چکیده

Strain induced crystallization (SIC) of peroxide vulcanized natural rubber (NR)/ground tire (GTR) composites is studied by combining mechanical and microstructural characterization techniques. It found that the incorporation GTR into NR matrix leads to more effective reinforcement at large strains room temperature in NR/GTR as compared neat NR. attributed (i) presence particles acting reinforcing fillers owing their high carbon black content, (ii) nucleating effect for SIC inducing further through generation an increasing number oriented crystallites behave supplementary fillers.

Microbiological deterioration of vulcanized rubber.

Data are presented which show that the constitution of the recovery medium exerts an appreciable effect on the apparent thermal resistance of spores of Putrefactive Anaerobe 3679. The routine use of a simple yeast extract-starch medium (YES) as a recovery medium in thermal resistance studies on this organism is recommended. In addition to giving thermal resistance values comparable to those obt...

Rubber friction and tire dynamics.

We propose a simple rubber friction law, which can be used, for example, in models of tire (and vehicle) dynamics. The friction law is tested by comparing numerical results to the full rubber friction theory (Persson 2006 J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 18 7789). Good agreement is found between the two theories. We describe a two-dimensional (2D) tire model which combines the rubber friction model wi...

A Micro-Mechanically Based Continuum Model for Strain-Induced Crystallization in Natural Rubber

Recent experimental results show that strain-induced crystallization can substantially improve the crack growth resistance of natural rubber. While this might suggest superior designs of tires or other industrial applications where elastomers are used, a more thorough understanding of the underlying physics of strain-induced crystallization in natural rubber has to be developed before any desig...
